A brave mum-of-three has been given a terminal cancer diagnosis after her arm suddenly stopped working.
Now, her family and friends are throwing a mini music festival to help her make precious memories with her kids.
Sarah, who works at Pinderfields Hospital, initially put the weakness in her arm down to weight training, but doctors have since found the cancer in her brain and believe it to be the primary site, despite this being unusual.
With Sarah and her husband, Gary, facing an incredibly difficult journey alongside their three children, family and friends are coming together to help them create as many precious memories as possible.
The fundraiser, organised by Sarah’s brother-in-law Rick Nurse from Castleford, will take place at Buttons Wakefield on Shay Lane, Walton, on Saturday, September 5, from 3pm.
A GoFundMe page has also been set up with the hope of raising £2,500 to help the couple make special memories with their children.
The afternoon's entertainment will begin with Th13teen performing a set of rock covers. They will be followed by Sleepy Jean, who will perform acoustic covers, before Ninja Chicken closes the event with a high-energy set of rock covers.
As well as the live music, there will also be a raffle and bake sale.
Rick said: “Sarah, her husband, Gary, and their three children are facing an unimaginably difficult journey.
“Our goal is to raise funds to help them make as many special memories together as possible in the very little time they have, creating moments they can cherish forever.”
He added: “A huge thank you to Buttons Wakefield for kindly hosting the event and covering the cost of the PA hire.
“It’s a fantastic venue with great food and drinks available throughout the day.
“Whether you can donate, buy a raffle ticket, enjoy the music, or simply help us spread the word, your support will mean the world to Sarah and her family.”
With free live music, food and drinks, organisers are hoping the community will come along, show their support and help raise as much as possible for Sarah and her family.
